Mantle segmentation along the Oman ophiolite fossil mid-ocean ridge
Article Abstract:
The phase chemistry and whole-rock major- and trace-element contents of 174 samples of the mantle collected along over 400 km of the Oman Sultanate ophiolite, is presented. It is shown that when analyzed along the fossil ridge, variations of elemental ratios sensitive to the melting process define a three-dimensional geometry of mantle upwellings.

In situ 0s isotopes in abyssal peridotities bridge the isotopic gap between MORBs and their source mantle
Article Abstract:
Abyssal peridotities are indicated to represent the mantle residue after extraction of the mid-ocean-ridge basalts (MORBs). Observations of the composition of abyssal peridotities are identical to MORBs that support a direct link between abyssal peridotities and MORBs.
