Maximizing Offspring Production While Maintaining Genetic Diversity in Supplemental Breeding Programs of Highly Fecund Managed Species

Article Abstract:

Four supplemental breeding designs are assessed involving monogamous pairings and complete factorial designs, both with and without an additional stipulation that total reproductive output consists of equal contributions by all breeders. A complete factorial design has the potential to increase production in robust redhorse (Moxostoma robustum) fish by 19%.

Quantifying Rarity, Losses, and Risks for Native Fishes of the Lower Colorado River Basin: Implications for Conservation Listing

Article Abstract:

The importance of matching quantitative spatial metrics to extinction risk criteria is demonstrated for species strongly impacted by spatial distribution. New rankings for Colorado River Basin native fish species are presented.
