Mechanical twisting of a guest by a photoresponsive host
Article Abstract:
The light-induced scissor-like conformational changes of one molecule can give rise to mechanical twisting of a non-covalently bound guest molecule. Circular dichroism spectroscopy is used to show that the photoinduced conformational changes of the host are transmitted and induce mechanical twisting of the rotor molecule.

The gift of healing
Article Abstract:
The article discusses synthesis and properties of a rubber-like material that is capable of self-healing at room temperature without using any form of adhesives. The material is found to work on the mechanism of supramolecular assembly and hence can be employed in several important applications.
