A shock to the system: if electromagnetic fields don't cause cancer, what's left to believe in?
Article Abstract:
A false federal government report about the danger of cancer from electromagnetic fields is one of several that have forced Americans to reevaluate what is or could be a risk to their lives. The scientist who prepared the report falsified data, but for some inexplicable reason, Americans did not experience a sense of relief. To some extent, the threat of danger is part of life's everyday drama. Humans may occasionally take their chances with whatever risk they are facing just to see if they can defy danger and suffer no consequences.

Article Abstract:
There is evidence that a satellite RNA phage having retrovirus-like properties, can colonize Salmonella enteriditis in chicken and then transmit its genome to the cells of the chicken. This bellophage agent therefore acts as a shuttle vector, and the newly formed DNA genome becomes a prophage, inserted into the host genome with the help of integrase. A nucleoside analogue that blocks bellophage reverse transcription is currently being tested.
