Ministers agree to act on warnings of soaring temperatures in Africa
Article Abstract:
Studies are conducted into the likely consequences of global warming for Africa, and it is predicted that reduced rainfall is expected to accompany the rise in temperature, which would have severe effects on biodiversity. The South Africa government called for a meeting and each of the South African ministers responsible for environment, energy, agriculture and water promised to outline proposals to mitigate the effects of climate change, with strong commitments, and the key is to covert concerns into action.

A tale of two centres
Article Abstract:
The Africa Centre for Health and Population Studies in Umkhanyakude and the Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine (IIDMM) in Cape Town are the two centres in South Africa that are battling against HIV and have received funding from Britain's Wellcome Trust medical charity. The Africa Centre has presented a good opportunity for conducting research in an HIV-stricken area, which might prove to be an ideal testing ground for interventions developed at IIDMM.
