Master regulator unmasked
Article Abstract:
Previous studies have shown that pluripotent stem cells can differentiate into different cell types but have been unable to understand the mechanics of such a process. However, recent research suggest that the SCL/TAL-1 gene (SCL) plays a crucial role in the development of pluripotent cells in haematopoiesis. Experiments showed that SCL-null embryonic stem cells do not contain any haematopoietic progenitors.

Three-dimensional segregation of supramolecular activation clusters in T cells
Article Abstract:
T cell activation by antigen-presenting cells (APCs) relies on signal integration delivered by multiple antigen receptors. The responses of T cells to native ligands have been studied at the level of the single cell, using a digital imaging system. The proteins clustered into segregated three dimensional domains in the cell contacts, rather than showing uniform oligomerization.
