Nuclear isomers in superheavy elements as stepping stones towards the island of stability
Article Abstract:
Detailed spectroscopic studies of nobelium nuclei beyond fermium (Z=100) were carried out with the aim of understanding the underlying single-particle structure of superheavy elements. Three excited structures, two of which are metastable and one structure firmly assigned to a two-proton excitation where found and these states are highly significant as their location is sensitive to single-particle levels above the gap in shell energies predicted at Z=114.

Shape coexistence and triaxiality in the superheavy nuclei
Article Abstract:
The superheavy nuclei indicate the extent of nuclear mass and charge, and they are generally present in the isolated spot of the nuclear landscape but how big is the landscape is not specified. However, the presence of the heavy nuclei depends on a delicate equilibrium among the catchy nuclear force and the troublesome Coulomb repulsion among the protons which supports fission.

A triplet of differently shaped spin-zero states in the atomic nucleus 186Pb
Article Abstract:
It has been established experimentally that the lowest three states in the energy spectrum of the neutron deficient nucleus 186Pb are oblate, spherical and prolate. The existence of an apparently unique shape triplet is allowed only by the specific conditions that are met around this nucleus.
