Northern Goshawk diet during the nesting season in Southeast Alaska
Article Abstract:
Northern goshawks (Accipiter gentilis) which occur throughout the forests of North America consume a wide variety of small-to-medium-sized birds and mammals associated with forested habitats, including grouse, tree squirrels, corvids, large passerines, woodpeckers and hares. Study is presented to describe and quantify the nesting season diet of northern goshawks in southeast Alaska, USA and to examine spatial and temporal variability in goshawk diet within this region.

Space-use patterns of bobcats relative to supplemental feeding of northern bobwhites
Article Abstract:
Studies assessing the space use by bobcats (Lynx rufus) relative to their attraction for supplemental feeding provided to northern bobwhites (Colinus virginianus) in Georgia suggest that bobcat home-range sizes were not affected by the supplemental food. Results indicate that supplemental feeding of prey can result in a spatial response by predators.

Comparative diets of adult and young three-toed woodpeckers in a European Alpine forest community
Article Abstract:
The year-round food preferences of the three-toed woodpecker (Picoides tridactylus) are studied from 1994 to 2000 in Berchtesgaden National park, Germany. Findings revealed that the consumption of bark beetles by three-toed woodpeckers, varied throughout the year, while the longhorn beetle larvae were preferred throughout the year.
