Article Abstract:
Scientists Adams et al have established that an improved phase-transition process is achieved with a mixed colloidal system, consisting of colloidal rods and spheres, is present. A range of alloy materials have been set up using hard sphere mixtures. Free-volume effects influence the mixture process. The use of isotropic-nematic liquid-crystal phase transition in hard rod systems is discussed.
