PERpetuating the PASt
Article Abstract:
There is considerable conservation between the structural features of the silkmoth and fruitfly Per genes, but they seem to have completely different mechanisms for eliciting the endogenous clock function. This research can play a valuable role in establishing the extent to which the molecular features of the clock are conserved during evolution. The research was extended to mammals, looking at issues including the possible partners for Per in the regulation of clock functions.

Chromatin remodelling and epigenetic features of germ cells
Article Abstract:
Germ cells have the unique capacity to start a new life upon fertilization, generated during a sez-specific differentiation programme called gametogenesis. Maturation of germ cells is characterized by an impressive degree of cellular restructuring and gene regulation that involves remarkable genomatic reorganization.
