Performance of sub-Saharan vertebrates as indicator groups for identifying priority areas for conservation
Article Abstract:
The six potential indicator groups consisting of birds, mammals, amphibians, snakes, threatened birds and threatened mammals are used to find priority sets of 200 areas that represent the species in that group. It is concluded that existing priority sets based on indicator groups provide a pragmatic basis for the immediate assessment of priorities for conservation at a continental scale.

The bias of complementarity hotspots toward marginal populations
Article Abstract:
The location of complementarity hotspots in relation to two measures of range core-periphery where the first measures the patterns of aggregation among records within each species range to identify areas within the core and periphery of the range, and the second measures, spatial turnover among species to identify areas with a high density of range edges are studied.

A Landscape Approach to Biodiversity Conservation of Sacred Groves in the Western Ghats of India
