Photosensitized reduction of nitrogen dioxide on humic acid as a source of nitrous acid
Article Abstract:
Humic acid films are exposed to nitrogen dioxide in an irradiated tubular gas flow reactor and it is observed that reduction of nitrogen dioxide on light-activated humic acids is an important source of gaseous nitrous acid. Findings indicate that soil and other surfaces containing humic acid exhibit an organic surface photochemistry that produces reductive surface species, which react selectively with nitrogen dioxide.

Increase in tropospheric nitrogen dioxide over China observed from space
Article Abstract:
The tropospheric column amounts of nitrogen dioxide retrieved from two satellites over the years 1996-2004 are presented. A substantial reduction in nitrogen dioxide concentration over some areas of Europe and the USA, but a highly significant increase of about 50 percent over the industrial areas of China, is found.

Essential role for collectrin in renal amino acid transport
Article Abstract:
A study reports that targeted disruption of collectrin in mice results in a severe defect in renal amino acid uptake owing to down regulation of apical amino acid transporters in the kidney. A novel group of renal amino acid transporters is defined.
