Nucleotide exchange on ARF mediated by yeast Gea1 protein
Article Abstract:
The yeast protein Gea1 from Saccharomyces cerevisiae is part of a complex which mediates the guanine-nucleotide exchange activity of ARF. Brefeldin A is able to influence the activity of the complex. Gea1 is necessary for the transportation of vesicles between the Golgi complex and the endoplasmic reticulum. Gea1 includes a domain similar to the domain present in the Sec7 protein. Sec7 is a protein required for transportation of vesicles within the Golgi complex.

Endosome marker is fat not fiction
Article Abstract:
Kobayashi and colleagues have characterized a new monoclonal antibody that can specifically identify late endosomes, and found that the recognized antigen is lysobisphosphatidic acid (LBPA), a lipid. LBPA was recognized by autoimmune sera from patients with antiphospholipid syndrome, shedding new light on the pathological basis of the disease.
