Rehabilitation of oiled wildlife
Article Abstract:
Those who provide care for oiled wildlife, the result of an oil spill or pollution, are more interested than anyone else in how effective the care is and how it could be better. Critics of the care may in time realize that the care is not given as part of a conspiracy with industry and that it is not an attempt to mislead the public about efficacy of the care. The programs to help the wildlife seldom help with wildlife population conservation, but do have some positive effects. Proponents should probably not claim that care of the wildlife helps to restore wildlife populations.

Condor soars toward recovery
Article Abstract:
Efforts initiated by the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) in preserving the California condor have paid off as populations of the endangered bird species have flourished. The condor is man's link to the Pleistocene Age, when wooly mammoths and mastodons roamed in North America. It is the largest flying bird in the continent with wings that span three meters in length. The FWS together with the National Audubon Society has been gathering wild-laid condor eggs so these could be incubated and hatched in captivity.
