The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Dmitry Sklyarov, a Russian graduate student in computer science, at the Defcon-9 conference of computer scientists and hackers. He faces a felony charge of violating the 1998 Digital Millennium Copyright Act with his Advanced eBook Processor program.
