Seeing red: a parrot's perspective

Article Abstract:

The article describes Australia's Eclectus parrots and includes information on the species' habitat, distribution, diet, reproductive behavior and its 'near threatened' conservation status, due primarily to its limited range and population. Discussion includes the bird's unique coloration as both sexes are beautified, the male being bright green, the female being bright red and blue.

Article Abstract:

The Bush Stone-curlew (Burhinus Grallarius) is a unique member of Australia's bird fauna mostly found in southeastern Australia. These ground-dwelling birds are becoming companionless and extinct due to various human activities and introduction of such predators as the fox.
