Senescence and tumour clearance is triggered by p53 restoration in murine liver carcinomas
Article Abstract:
The RNA interference (RNAi) is used to regulate endogenous p53 expression in a mosaic mouse model of liver carcinoma in order to determine the consequences of reactivating the p53 pathway in tumours. The results have shown that the loss of p53 is necessary for maintaining aggressive carcinomas and have also indicated how the cellular senescence program can act together with the innate immune system to limit tumour growth.

Evasion of the p53 tumor surveillance network by tumor-derived MYC mutants
Article Abstract:
The new insights in the biology of the MYC oncoprotien suggest that tumor-derived MYC mutants are relevant to the pathology of Burkitt's lymphoma, as they are unable to update Bim and efficiently inhibit Bcl2. It is shown that the MYC mutants examined retain the ability to activate the p19(super ARF) - p53 pathway and efficiently promote proliferation.

Survival signalling by Akt and elF4E in oncogenesis and cancer therapy
Article Abstract:
Akt is an apoptotic regulator that is activated in many cancers and may promote drug resistance in vitro. Results of the experiment conducted establish Akt signaling through mTOR and eIF4E as an important mechanism of oncogenesis and drug resistance in vivo.
