Sick veterans pin hopes on Gulf war inquiry
Article Abstract:
An inquiry is in progress from 6 July 2004 for dealing with an illness that has no defined symptoms and cause and is being faced by war veterans of the first Gulf War. This inquiry, which does not have the support of the government was organized by Alf Morris, Labour member of the House of Parliament and indicates that exposure to nerve gas and medication given to soldiers before the war may have been responsible for the illness experienced by the veterans.

Regulation of PDGF signaling and vascular remodeling by peroxiredoxin II
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to show that peroxiredoxin II (Prx II) is a negative regulator of platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) signaling and its deficiency results in increased cell proliferation and migration in response to PDGF. The results suggest that Prx II leads to the suppression of PDGF receptor activation in primary culture and a murine restenosis model including PDGF-dependent neointimal thickening of vascular smooth muscle cells.
