Nicotinamide and PNC1 govern lifespan extension by calorie restriction in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Article Abstract:
The increased expression of PNC1 (pyrazinamidase/nicotinamidase 1), which encodes enzyme for deamination of nicotinamide, are necessary for lifespan extension by calorie restriction and low-intensity stress are investigated. The mechanism of PNC1 in regulating longtivity and activating Sir2 are analyzed.

Sirtuin activators mimic caloric restriction and delay ageing in metazoans
Article Abstract:
Restricting caloric intake in metazoans can extend the lifespan of numerous species. Lifespan extension in budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae is dependant on functional Sr2.
