Standing room only signals US zeal for Earth imaging
Article Abstract:
The researchers of Earth-science in the US are trying to obtain a satellite system dedicated to observing the Earth's surface that would transform studies of earthquakes, volcanoes, ice sheets and global land cover. The satellite-based technology that the researchers want is called InSAR (interferometric synthetic aperture radar) that bounce off the ground creating a precise map of the surface, including information about the type of ground cover.

Imaging at a distance
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to obtain a sharper view of the object under study by the counterintuitive approach of moving away from it, where excitations of the spins occurs at one place and the signal is collected at a different location. It is found that the remote-detection approach might be used to optimize transport and reaction efficiency in microstructured devices.

Synthesis of the H-cluster framework of iron-only hydrogenase
Article Abstract:
The assembly of the iron-sulphur framework of the active site of iron-only hydrogenase (the H-cluster) is reported. Through linking of a di-iron subsite to a (4Fe4S) cluster, the first synthesis of a metallosulphur cluster core involved in small-molecule catalysis is achieved.
