Sterol, sensor comes up for air
Article Abstract:
An understanding of how cholesterol synthesis is regulated in mammals is presented. The results indicate that this transcriptional regulation centers on a transcription-factor protein called sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBP) that contains a portion that caries out transcription, connected to a transmembreane domain.

Intergenic transcription is required to repress the Saccharomyces cerevisiae SER3 gene
Article Abstract:
The occurrence of transcription in the SER3 regulatory region is investigated. The role for one case of intergenic transcription is discovered by studying the Saccharomyces cerevisiae SER3 gene, and previous results revealed that transcription of SER3 is tightly repressed during growth in rich medium.

c-Myc-regulated microRNAs modulate E2F1 expression
Article Abstract:
c-Myc is shown to activate the expression of a cluster of six miRNAs on human chromosome 13. The results revealed that expression of E2F1 is negatively regulated by two miRNAs in this cluster, miR-17-5p with miR-20a.
