Strong exciton-photon coupling in an organic semiconductor microcavity
Article Abstract:
Exciton-photon interaction modification and control in semiconductors is directly relevant to the design of improved light-emitting diodes, lasers and photodetectors. An organic semiconductor microcavity operating in the strong-coupling regime is reported, and the characteristic mixing of exciton and photon modes is observed. The results could lead to new structures and device concepts that incorporate hybrid states of organic and inorganic excitons.

Electronics in a spin
Article Abstract:
Latest research in the area of semiconductor spintronics indicates that it is possible to transfer spins coherently and with great efficiency across interfaces between different semiconducting materials. This research used a technique which allows interrogation of the identity of the ensemble of transferred spins.
