Supernovae can't be typecast
Article Abstract:
A simple code which distinguishes the supernovae into types I and II based on their optical spectra has been developed by astronomers. Supernovae type II is formed by the gravitational collapse of the iron core formed by nuclear fusion in the center of a large star. The conditions are completely out of equilibrium but the composition remains normal. On the other hand, a type I supernovae is completely abnormal with type Ia producing iron and cobalt emission while type Ib develop helium absorption lines and subsequently, oxyygen and calcium emissions.

Online access to 'Trends in Pharmacological Sciences.'
Article Abstract:
The magazine 'Trends in Pharmacological Sciences' has developed a Web site in conjunction with BioMedNet, the Internet Community for Biological and Medical Researchers. The online information resource TiPS offers a link between reference data from 'Trends' journals to BioMedNet's Evaluated MEDLINE. In this way, the magazine is able to extend its research value to online information users. It also provides a convenient venue for interchange of scientific ideas among its target users.
