Socioeconomic factors and tropical deforestation
Article Abstract:
Scientists have found socioeconomic factors affecting the rate of deforestation vary enormously in global areas. Forward stepwise regression and multiple regression techniques are used to assess the effects of each factor on several regions. Population density appears to have the most influence on deforestation in Africa while cattle density is more significant than any other factor in Latin America.
