Test of synergistic interactions among deleterious mutations in bacteria
Article Abstract:
Genetic research using the bacteria Escherichia coli has established that genotypes with deleterious mutated pairs of genes are either antagonistic or synergistic in their interaction. Evidence suggests that mutational determinism in sex evolution does not exist. Multiple mutations involving repeated mutagenesis were compared with single-mutation genotypes. Transposon mutagenesis methods are described.

Restoration of an inbred adder population
Article Abstract:
An isolated and inbred population of adders was studied and estimates of population number were based on adult males only. The population size has fallen each year since 1993, but the introduction of new genes halted the decline towards extinction, expanding the population dramatically.

A viable herd of genetically uniform cattle: Deleterious alleles seem to have been purged in a feral strain of inbred cows
Article Abstract:
A feral herd of cattle that has remained viable and fertile despite at least 300 years ot total inbreeding, is examined.
