The hellbender needs help: Is North America's largest salamander headed for extinction
Article Abstract:
The two-foot long 'Hellbender', which is one of the worlds' largest amphibians of United States, is susceptible to problems ranging from erosion runoff, to pollution, to habitat destruction. Wildlife biologist Mauricio Solis and others are collecting information about water quality and the distribution, gender and blood chemistry of the species to halt the decline of hellbenders from Ozark waters in North America.
