The law of the jungle
Article Abstract:
Declining populations of forest mammals in Asia, Africa and South America are still being hunted for food. Ecologists are trying to develop ways to protect those populations, estimating the maximum allowable catch of a given species. Estimates in some regions are that sustainable hunting is not feasible, and many mammal species have already been hunted to extinction.
