The magnetic turnabout
Article Abstract:
Hashimoto and colleagues have reported a unique magnet that reverses magnetization twice as the temperature changes. They concentrated on compounds of formula (NiaMnbFec)(sub3)(Cr(CN)(sub6)), containing four transition ions. The spontaneous magnetizations of the Ni, Fe and Cr sub-lattices were positive, while the Mn sub-lattice was negative, leading to a mixed ferroferrimagnet.

Resistance of a perfect wire
Article Abstract:
Research into electrical conductivity and why all conductors have some resistance is discussed. It is shown that electrical contacts are the reason for this resistance. The creation of an almost-perfect, ballistic one-dimensional wire is discussed.

Generation and detection of phase-coherent current-driven magnons in magnetic multilayers
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the magnon frequency and amplitude variations which occur in ferromagnets when the exciting current is produced by the irradiation of a contact with microwaves.
