Ultrafast terahertz probes of transient conducting and insulating phases in an electron-hole gas
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on unbound electron-hole pairs. The authors describe the use of ultrafast terahertz probes in investigating the dynamical interplay of these pairs and optically-generated excitons, and report the unexpected quasi-instantaneous excitonic enhancement.

Article Abstract:
The way Albert Einstein claimed his place in the changing landscape of physics during his annus mirabillis is described. Einstein focused on thermodynamics and the kinetic-molecular theory of heat, and attempted to fill some gaps that he saw in the theory.
