The scientific researches carried out in Germany during the Nazi dictatorship under Adolf Hitler were inhumane and notorious, which has created fear in the minds of the people in Germany. The experienced scientists and research managers after the Second World War has found it difficult in rebuilding the science infrastructure of the destroyed Germany.

Turkish government accused of hijacking boosted science budget
Article Abstract:
Turkey has made a second attempt to increase its control over TUBITAK, the country's main science funding body. TUBITAK members are appointed by the Prime Minister. However, Turkish scientists fear that recent appointments and legal changes in the body are attempts to channel a growing science budget towards the government's supporters.

Article Abstract:
Discussion about the recent decline in wealth and reputation of the Russian Academy of Sciences is presented. The Russian academy has its functions to perform which would regain its science academy's reputation and is supposed to be the main body providing impartial scientific advice to the Russian government.
