Unravelling the dynamics of RNA degradation by ribonuclease II and its RNA-bound complex
Article Abstract:
The X-ray crystallographic structures of both the ligand-free and RNA-bound forms of Escherichia coli ribonuclease II (RNase II) are reported. The three-dimensional model has supported all the existing biochemical data for RNase II and elucidated the general basis for RNA degradation, thereby revealing the important structural features that can be extrapolated to other members of this family.

Small RNAs with big impacts
Article Abstract:
The effects of c-Myc on miRNAs is explored using a lymphoma cell line carrying a myc gene that can be switched on by treating the cells with an 'inducer'. The results suggested that increasing the expression of c-Myc leads to increased expression of six miRNAs.

The expanding world of small RNAs
Article Abstract:
The article discusses the development and the identification of several new classes of small, non-coding RNAs. These RNAs are found to be extremely efficient in regulating gene expression at different levels.
