What's best on the banks?
Article Abstract:
The conservation of aquatic ecosystems and restoration of riparian or streamside forests in the US are based on the reversion of streamside areas to mature forest. Previously the policy had been to remove wood debris. Four reaches of Coon Creek in Wisconsin state were studied and the results indicate that the clearing of streamside forests could decrease downstream sediment.

Decoupling of erosion and precipitation in the Himalayas
Article Abstract:
Abrupt spatial gradients in erosion can cause high strain rates in active orogens. Observations from a meteorological network across the Greater Himalaya, Nepal, along with estimates of erosion rates at geologic timescales from low temperature thermochronometry are combined.
