Zacharias and Roff vs. Salomon et al.: Who adds more value to marine conservation efforts?
Article Abstract:
An effort is made in understanding the relationships between marine structures and the process to demonstrate how these relationships change among the population, community and ecosystem levels of organization in response to Salomon et. al's review of Zacharias and Roff's. This framework provides a necessary ecological basis from which to build, and thus provides a starting point to determine how conservation efforts should proceed in marine environments.

Incorporating human and ecological communities in marine conservation: An alternative to Zacharias and Roff
Article Abstract:
An alternative proposal to the alternative framework of Zacharias and Roff, which emphasize the reciprocal links between ecological process, anthropogenic threats, and management options in marine systems, is discussed. The solutions suggested primarily require addressing the biological causes in politically practicable, socially responsible and ecologically informed ways.

A hierarchical ecological approach to conserving marine biodiversity
Article Abstract:
A number of ecological models are developed to provide an understanding of the various biotic and abiotic components. These are required to conserve biodiversity and to reconcile objectives and methods between those interested in the conservation of species. A hierarchical framework is used to determine the conservation strategies.
