Article Abstract:
Boris Eifman, the famous Russian choreographer, has staged a ballet at New York City Ballet's (NYCB) Balanchine's Centennial celebration out of respect for Balanchine's artistic roots. The hero in Eifman's ballet 'Musegete' is visited by three muses, just like in Balanchine's Apollo, but he suffers, loves and creates wonderful muses and everlasting art, fully worthy of immortal glory.

Article Abstract:
Mikhail Baryshnikov took part in some of the company's numbers, and Eliot Feld created Mr. XYZ specifically for him during the March 2003 Joyce Theater season of Ballet Tech. Mr. XYZ is the union of his brilliant artistic work and a confession, he does not relate to the audience as himself, but as an aging actor, an image that is inconsistent with this fifty-five year old dancer.

Baryshnikov, from classicist to modernist
Article Abstract:
Mikhail Baryshnikov continues to contribute to ballet and modern dance. Still performing at the age of 50, Baryshnikov has developed innovative choreography, expanding outward from ballet and devoting his creativity to contemporary and interpretive dance. His entrenched sense of aesthetics translates abstract movements into vehicles of emotion and expression.
