A PHD finger protein involved in both the vernalization and photoperiod pathways in Arabidopsis
Article Abstract:
An analysis attempts to shown that a plant homeodomain (PHD) finger-containing protein, VIN3-LIKE 1 (VIL1), participates in both the photoperiod and vernalization pathways in Arabidopsis thaliana, by regulating expression of the related floral repressors FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) and FLOWERING LOCUS M (FLM). The findings suggest shown that VIL1 mediates the photoperiod-specific repression of another member of the FLC clade and hence it is involved in the regulation of flowering by two environmental-sensing pathways.

Variation in the epigenetic silencing of FLC contributes to natural variation in Arabidopsis vernalization response
Article Abstract:
The molecular basis for variation in vernalization in Arabidopsis natural accessions adapted to different climates is investigated. The results have shown that the variation in epigenetic silencing of the floral repressor gene FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) have contributed to Arabidopsis adaptation.

Polycomb-group proteins repress the floral activator AGL19 in the FLC-independent vernalization pathway
Article Abstract:
A novel flowering gene that is under polycomb-group (PcG) control in Arabidopis-the MADS-box gene AGL19 is identified. Epistasis analyses revealed that AGL19 works in the poorly characterized FLC-independent vernalization pathway and does not require SOC1 to function.
