DNA replication in the archaea
Article Abstract:
Various structures for individual components and higher-order assemblies of archaea replication factors are being designed and obtained to present a better understanding of the various mechanisms involved in DNA replication of archaea, as well as eukaryotes. The findings reveal that the DNA replication machinery is a simplified and presumably ancestral form of that found in eukaryotes and is evolutionarily very different and distinct from that usually found in bacteria.

Identification of two origins of replication in the single chromosome of the archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus
Article Abstract:
The presence of two active origins of replication in the hyperthermophilic archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus are revealed. The identification of two active origins of replication in the single chromosome of the hyperthermophilic archaeon Sulfolobus solfataricus is described. The two origins are recognized by distinct subsets of three Sulfolonus proteins Orc1 and Cdc6 homologs are demonstrated.

Solving mysteries of DNA replication and frog cloning
Article Abstract:
The question of why the DNA in nuclei from somatic cells of adult frogs replicates more slowly than DNA of sperm nuclei is addressed. The result explains that the exposure of somatic cell nuclei and sperm nuclei to an extract of mitotic cells abolishes this difference of slow replication.
