Degradation of 1,3-dichloropropene by Pseudomonas cichorii 170
Article Abstract:
Research was conducted to examine the complete microbial degradation of 1,3-dichloropropene by the gram-negative bacterium Pseudomonas cichorii 170. The cloning and sequencing of the haloalkane dehalogenase gene involved in the conversion of 1,3-dichloropropene to 3-chloroallyl alcohol were performed. The isolation and characterization of dehalogenase-negative mutants confirmed the presence and role of the dhaA gene in P. cichorii.

Comparison of Paenibacillus azotofixans strains isolated from rhizoplane, rhizosphere, and non-root-associated soil from maize planted in two different Brazilian soils
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze Paenibacillus azotofixans strains determined from rhizoplane, rhizosphere and non-root-relate soil from maize growing in two different soils. Biochemical tests were carried out to determine a total of 106 strains. A dendrogram was then created to monitor two main clusters. Experimental results indicated that the diversity of P. azotofixans strains correlated with the soil type.

Analysis of bacterial community structure in sulfurous-oil-containing soils and detection of species carrying dibenzothiophene desulfurization (dsz) genes
Article Abstract:
The effect of sulfur-containing hydrocarbons on the selection of desulfurizing organisms and genes in soil was studied. Researchers are seeking ways to de-sulfurize petroleum deposits to prevent the release of sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere when the deposits are converted into fuel.
