Dosage compensation in mammals: Fine-tuning the expression of the X chromosome
Article Abstract:
Mammals use a number of regulatory processes to ensure correct dosage of the X chromosome and this complexity of dosage compensation strategies is linked to the evolution of the sex chromosomes. New evidence showing that the X chromosome is globally up-regulated compared with autosomes is discussed.
