Effect on P availability on temporal dynamics of carbon allocation and Glomus intraradices high-affinity P transporter gene induction in arbuscular mycorrhiza
Article Abstract:
Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi depend on a C supply from the plant host and simultaneously provide phosphorus to the colonized plant and therefore, the influence of external P on C allocation in monoxenic Daucus carota-Glomus intraradices cultures in AM symbiosis was evaluated. Fungal hyphae proliferated from a solid minimal medium containing colonized roots into a C-free liquid minimal medium with high or low P availability and were measured by isotope labeling.

Analysis of quantitative interactions between two species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, Glomus mosseae and G. intraradices, by real-time PCR
Article Abstract:
The infection pattern of two Glomus species with a quantitative real time PCR (qRT-PCR) protocol that was successfully developed for absolute quantification of G. intraradices DAOM 181602 is presented. This absolute quantification of G. intraradices was used to measure the infection of the two species of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AMF) namely G. mosseae and G. intraradices during their colonization of a single root system.

Use of root organ cultures to investigate the interaction between Glomus intraradices and Pratylenchus coffeae
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that Glomus intraradices protects the carrot roots against Pratylenchus coffeae via suppression of nematode production in the roots. Data show that the presence of nematodes does not influence internal and external mycorrhizal development.
