Genetic markers substantiate long-term storage and utilization of sperm by female painted turtles
Article Abstract:
Long-term storage and utilization of sperm on the part of female painted turtles in a last-in - first-out system have been substantiated by genetic markers. Use of sperm varied considerably from female to female, and some females, it appears, used sperm that had been stored for up to three years to fertilize some or all of the eggs laid in consecutive nesting seasons.

Seminal fluid-mediated fitness traits in Drosophila
Article Abstract:
Drosophila seminal fluid-mediated fitness traits are discussed in this short review article. Data on function, evolution and maintenance of variation in seminal fluid proteins and the genes that encode them are presented. Little evidence so far link sequence changes to phenotype.
