IRES-mediated functional coupling of transcription and translation amplifies insulin receptor feedback
Article Abstract:
The evidence for a new mechanism that enables eukaryotes to coordinate and selectively couple transcription and translation of target genes in response to a nutrient and growth signaling cascade is reported. Studies reveal an integrated transcriptional and translational response mechanism specifically dependent on cellular IRES that coordinates an essential physiological signal responsible for mentoring nutrient and cell growth conditions.

Transcriptional feedback control of insulin receptor by dFOXO/FOXO1
Article Abstract:
Insulin receptor (InR) represses its own synthesis in Drosophila and mammals by a feedback mechanism directed by the transcription factor dFOXO/FOXO1. The dFOXO/FOXO1 transcription factor plays an important role in a feedback control mechanism for regulating metabolism and insulin signaling in flies and mammals.
