InIB-dependent internalization of Listeria is mediated by the Met receptor tyrosine kinase
Article Abstract:
InIB-dependent internalization of Listeria has been shown to be mediated tyrosine kinase, a Met receptor. Met is a receptor tyrosine kinase for which the only known ligand is Hepatocyte Growth Factor. Experiments were done with Met-deficient cell lines and those that have it. InIB binds to the extracellular domain of Met and brings on scattering of epithelial cells. Listeria monocytogenes is a foodborne bacterium of importance because of the severity of illnesses it causes in humans.

Mannose 6-phosphate/insulin-like growth factor II receptor is a death receptor for granzyme B during cyotoxic T cell-induced apoptosis
Article Abstract:
Mannose 6-phosphate/insulin-like growth factor II receptor has been shown to be a death receptor for granzyme B during cyotoxic T cell-induced apoptosis. Granzyme B has been shown to enter cells in a way that is independent of perforin, showing that such a receptor or receptors may exist. Now the receptor has been identified. A novel target for immunotherapy and a mechanism that may be used by tumors for immune evasion have been suggested.

Apoptosis by death factor
Article Abstract:
A number of growth and differentiation factors regulate proliferation and differentiation of cells during development. Three death factors and four death factor receptors, the former binding to the latter, have been identified as inducing apoptosis, killing the cells in a matter of hours. The identification of these death factor-receptor pairs suggests that apoptosis can also be controlled by an external killer in some cases.
