Information-theoretic metrics for visualizing gene-environment interactions
Article Abstract:
The dependence of candidate visualization metrics on biological and study-design factors were assessed by developing heuristics for visualizing and interpreting gene-environment interactions (GEIs). The k-way and interaction information (KWII) and total correlation information (TCI) were found to be promising metrics for visualizing GEIs.

TINF2, a component of the shelterin telomere protection complex, is mutated in dyskeratosis congenita
Article Abstract:
The article discusses the identification of a component, TINF2, of the shelterin telomere protection complex in patients suffering from dyskeratosis congenita (DC). The analysis proves that TINF2 is easily mutated in DC and in Revesz syndrome.
