Intelligent redesign
Article Abstract:
The Research Facilities Improvement Program (RFIP) has proposed guidelines that the construction project must boost institution's ability to conduct, expand, improve, or maintain biomedical/behavioral research. Willie McCullough, director of RFIP at National Institutes of Health's (NIH's) National Center for Research Resources accepts that there is hardly any proof, however, to show that flexibility and interdisciplinary interaction, publicized as benefits of newer building design, promote better research.

The death of biology
Article Abstract:
Harvard, the famous educational institute, is doing away with its biology course from the 2006 fall session. However, they are not scrapping the course entirely but are just redefining it in order to provide students a complete understanding of life sciences and will include concentrations in chemical and physical biology, organismal and evolutionary biology, human evolutionary biology, molecular and cellular biology and neurobiology.

Are you listening?
Article Abstract:
Science podcasts are becoming popular as a tool for educating scientists and lay persons alike. The medium is still very young and while many people prefer reading to listening when it comes to science, it is definitely gaining popularity every day and it is hoped that in future it will become easier to find good podcasts.
