Investigation of the translation-initiation factor IF2 gene, infB, as a tool to study the population structure of Streptococcus agalactiae
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the prokaryotic translation-initiation factor 2 infB gene. The use of the infB partial sequences in phylogenetic analyses of related to Streptococcus agalactiae species is discussed.

Phylogenetic associations of ISAa1 and IS150-like insertion sequences in Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans
Article Abstract:
Research reveals that genomic patterns of insertion sequence ISAa1 is stable during evolutionary course but the IS150-like sequence exhibited intra-genomic variability. Data indicate that the two insertion sequences roughly match sequences of Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans housekeeping genes.

Molecular analysis of a new insertion sequence from Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) actinomycetemcomitans FDC Y4
Article Abstract:
A new insertion sequence (IS), called ISAa1, was discovered downstream of the S10 operon in Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) actinomycetemcomitans FDC Y4. ISAa1, the first component which was identified in this organism, is 705 bp long and does not have terminal inverted repeats. ISAa1 is very homologous with IS200. Hybridization patterns of genomic DNA of seven A. actinomycetemcomitans strains with an internal ISAa1 probe varied depending on the serotypes, indicating that ISAa1 may be useful in epidemiological research.
