An interactive web-based Pseudomonas aeruginosa genome database: discovery of new genes, pathways and structures
Article Abstract:
An interactive web-based Pseudomonas aeruginosa genome database at Http://pseudomonas.bit.uq.edu.au/ has been set up based on the discovery of new genes, pathways and structures. From the database it can be seen that P. aeruginosa has four chemotaxis systems and two novel general secretion pathways. In the organism are at least three loci encoding F17-like thin fimbriae and six novel filamentous hemogglutinin-like genes. Features of the database are given.

Iron regulation of the hcnABC genes encoding hydrogen cyanide synthase depends on the anaerobic regulator ANR rather than on the global activator GacA in Pseudomonas fluorescens CHA0
Article Abstract:
The Pseudomonas fluorescens CHA0 anaerobic regulator ANR, not the global activator GacA, has been found to regulate iron, which in turn regulates the hcnABC genes that encode hydrogen cyanide (HCH) synthase. Cyanogenesis is sequentially activated by ANR at the transcription level and by components of the GacA network at the translation level.

Regulatory interactions between the Hrp type III protein secretion system and coronatine biosynthesis in Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000
Article Abstract:
Production of phytotoxin coronatine (COR) in defined hrp/hrc mutants of Pseudomonas syringae pv tomato DC3000 has been analyzed. The goal was to study the coordinated regulation, if any existed, of different systems necessary for virulence and pathogenicity. Results show it is likely that the hrp/hrc secretion system is not necessary for COR production. Mutations in the system however may have regulatory effects on production of virulence factors of the COR type
