Late male-killing phenomenon found in a Japanese population of the oriental tea tortrix, Homona magnanima (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae)
Article Abstract:
Late male-killing has been found in a population of the oriental tea tortrix, Homona magnanima (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), in Japan. Mortality of more than 50% was seen in the all-female strain larvae, indicating female-only broods are produced as a result of late male-killing, given that no difference was seen in mean egg hatch between the all-female and normal strains. The female biased sex ration was maternally inherited and held even when females were backcrossed with males of the normal strain, implicating cytoplasmic parasitism.

Deltamethrin resistance in the codling moth (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae): inheritance and number of genes involved
Article Abstract:
The inheritance of deltamethrin resistance in the codling moth (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) has been studied with attention to the number of genes involved. The hypothesis that there is a polygenic response to deltamethrin selection in the resistant strain is supported. The resistance seen in southeastern France appears to come from an adaptive sequential selection process though the sequential addition of resistance genes.

Polyandry in Lepidoptera: a heritable trait in Spodoptera exigua Hubner
Article Abstract:
The mode of inheritance of polyandry was studied in the laboratory in Spodoptera exigua Hubner, the beet army worm. Polyandry in S. exigua is a polygenic, autosomal heritable trait. Additive genetic variance is available for selection for female mating frequency.
