Miranda is required for the asymmetric localization of Prospero during mitosis in drosophila
Article Abstract:
Researchers have been able to isolate a novel gene, Miranda, which encodes proteins that can interact with Numb and Prospero in vitro. This gene is expressed during asymmetric cell division and Prospero asymmetric localization. It was established that Numb localization does not need Miranda, while Prospero, a nuclear transcription factor, needs Miranda as an adapter for its membrane association. Other research work will be required following the identification of Miranda as a significant new component of the machinery for asymmetric cell division.

Different levels of the homeodomain protein cut regulate distinct dendrite branching patterns of Drosophila multidendritic neurons
Article Abstract:
The functionality of neurons and its relationship with the dendrite morphology is discussed. Research suggests that the concentration of the homeoprotein Cut, whose expression is mediated by different da sensory neurons, regulates class-specific dendrite morphogenesis. Data indicate that different levels of the Cut protein regulate dendrite branching of distinct morphology in Drosophila.

The polar T1 interface is linked to conformational changes that open the voltage-gated potassium channel
Article Abstract:
Results reveal that amino acid residues on the polar T1 interface influence the voltage-gated potassium channel in the mammalian brain and heart tissues. Data show that an isosteric mutation in the interface leads to T1 tetramer formation, which destabilize the closed channel suggesting a role for the burried polar residues.
