Mucosa-associated bacterial diversity in relation to human terminal ileum and colonic biopsy samples
Article Abstract:
A combination of molecular techniques is used for quantitating and visualizing the bacterial diversity of the predominant bacteria colonizing the bowel wall in the terminal ileum, as well as in the ascending, transverse, and descending colon. Site-specific colonizing in the gastrointestinal tract is contributory in the ascending and descending colon.

Shear rate moderates community diversity in freshwater biofilms
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to describe the effects of different hydrodynamic shear forces on the formation and diversity of freshwater biofilm communities. The surface properties of the bacteria from each community are assessed by measuring whole-cell hydrophobicity and coaggregation and auto aggregation abilities.
