Natural insect host-parasite systems show immune priming and specificity: Puzzles to be solved
Article Abstract:
The traditional host-centered view of immine defense that can be usefully extended by taking account of parasite immune evasion strategies and the variation that such strategies create in the observed outcomes of infection is presented. Many parasites may have targeted the regulatory network instead, which forced the hosts to evolve more redundant and complex signal transduction and modulation mechanisms.

Energy transduction anchors genes in organelles
Article Abstract:
Energy transduction in respiration and photosynthesis comprises the work of mitochondria and chloroplasts. A case for a massive and indiscriminate intracellular gene transfer between organelles and the cell nucleus, with the frequency of relocation being compared to mutation is indicated.

A perspective for understanding the modes of juvenile hormone action as a lipid signaling system
Article Abstract:
A synthetic perspective for understanding juvenile hormone action in the light of other lipid signaling systems and suggest that lipid activation of proteins has evolved to modulate existing signal activation and transduction mechanisms in animals and plants.
